Why Backup Your Data?
- Protect against accidental data loss
- Transfer data to a new browser or computer
- Keep historical records outside the browser
- Required before clearing browser data or uninstalling
Export Orders (Backup)
- Click the AliBill extension icon
- Click "Go to Invoice Page"
- In the side menu, click "Export All Orders"
- A JSON file will be downloaded containing all your stored order data
- Save this file somewhere safe
File format: The export file is in JSON format. Don't edit it manually unless you know what you're doing, as it may corrupt the data.
Import Orders (Restore)
- Click the AliBill extension icon
- Click "Go to Invoice Page"
- In the side menu, click "Import Orders"
- Select your previously exported JSON file
- The extension will validate the file format and import the orders
Note: Importing merges with existing orders. Duplicate orders (same order ID) will be updated with the imported data.
When to Export
We recommend exporting your data:
- Before clearing browser data
- Before uninstalling the extension
- Periodically as a regular backup (monthly recommended)
- Before major Chrome updates
- When switching to a new computer
