This policy applies to the AliBill browser extension and to alibill.net. It describes every category of data the extension handles, why it is handled, where it is stored, how long it is kept, and every party it is shared with.

Summary

  • Your order data stays on your device. Invoices are generated locally, and your orders, addresses and payment details are never uploaded.
  • The extension sends a small amount of anonymous technical data, described in full below. Most of it is sent only when you ask for it by reporting a problem.
  • We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or profiling, or share it with data brokers.
  • AliBill takes part in an affiliate programme. It never activates on its own — see Affiliate programme.

Key point: your AliExpress orders, buyer addresses and payment details never leave your browser. They are not sent to us, and there is no account to sign into.

Data stored on your device only

Collected when you press Collect Orders or generate an invoice, and written to your browser's local extension storage:

  • Order IDs, order dates and order status
  • Product titles, quantities, prices, images and product links
  • Store / seller name and store URL
  • Buyer name, address and phone as shown on your order
  • Currency, price breakdown, VAT / tax amounts
  • Payment method, tracking number, carrier and tracking steps
  • Your own company details and logo, if you enter them

This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It stays in your browser until you delete it, and it is not synced to any cloud service, including your Google account.

Retention: indefinite, under your control. Delete it at any time via Delete stored orders, or by uninstalling the extension, which removes all of it.

Data sent automatically

One category, and only one.

Order date normalisation

While collecting orders, the extension sends the order ID and the order date exactly as printed on the AliExpress page (for example 31 dic, 2025) to our own service at api.alibill.net, which returns the date in a machine-readable form. AliExpress prints dates in dozens of localised formats that cannot all be parsed inside the browser; without this, dates on your invoices would be wrong or missing.

  • Sent: order ID and the order date string. Nothing else — no names, addresses, prices, products or account identifiers.
  • Recipient: AliBill's own backend. Not shared onward.
  • Retention: processed in transit and not stored.

Data sent only when you ask for it

Nothing in this section leaves your device unless you actively choose to send it. When you press Report a problem, or export an error report, the extension sends a technical report so we can reproduce your issue:

  • Error messages, error types and stack traces — long alphanumeric strings are redacted before sending
  • The page address where the error occurred — query strings removed, kept as domain and path only
  • A short trail of recent extension actions, such as invoice opened or scrape started
  • Browser user-agent string, extension version and interface language
  • The installation identifier described below, so several reports from the same install can be grouped
  • Count and shape of your stored orders — how many, and which fields are missing. Never the order contents themselves
  • Anonymous price-block samples, when your report concerns tax or totals: the price and tax layout as shown on the page, with no buyer, address or payment data

Recipients: AliBill's own backend (api.alibill.net) and our error-monitoring provider, Toriox (extension-monitor.toriox.dev), which stores diagnostics on our behalf and does not use them for its own purposes.

Retention: up to 12 months, then deleted.

If you also fill in the feedback form, it is hosted by Tally (tally.so), and anything you type there is covered by Tally's own privacy policy.

Installation identifier

On installation the extension generates a random string and stores it on your device. It is not derived from your name, email, IP address, browser fingerprint or AliExpress account, and it cannot be traced back to you.

It exists for one purpose only: so that several problem reports from the same installation can be grouped together. It is never sent anywhere else, and it is never included in affiliate links. It is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Uninstalling

When you remove AliBill, Chrome opens a short feedback form hosted by Tally. Answering it is optional and it collects nothing automatically. Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data, including your orders and the installation identifier.

Affiliate programme

AliBill takes part in an affiliate programme for AliExpress. If you open AliExpress through AliBill and then buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. This never changes the price you pay.

Nothing happens automatically. No affiliate link, code or cookie is ever applied while you browse. It happens only when you deliberately press an AliBill button — Buy over AliBill in the extension panel, or Open via AliBill on a product page. If you never press them, no affiliate link is ever used, and every feature of AliBill works exactly the same.

When you press one of those buttons, the extension opens a link at our affiliate partner, which redirects you to AliExpress. That link carries only a publisher code identifying AliBill as the referrer, plus the address of the page you asked to open. No information about you is sent — no identifier, no browsing history, no order data. Opening it is the same as clicking any ordinary outbound link.

Permissions

Storage

Used to save order data locally in your browser. The extension uses the unlimitedStorage permission so large numbers of orders can be stored without quota limits.

Host permissions (AliExpress domains)

Required to read order information from AliExpress pages:

  • *.aliexpress.com
  • *.aliexpress.ru
  • *.aliexpress.us (optional, granted on request)

These permissions let the extension read page content and extract order information only when you actively visit those pages.

What we never do

  • We never sell or rent your data.
  • We never use your data for advertising, profiling or credit assessment.
  • We never transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to AliBill's core function.
  • We never collect your AliExpress login, password or payment card details. AliBill cannot see them.

Your rights and controls

Export

Export everything AliBill has stored as a JSON file at any time using Export All Orders.

Delete

Delete stored orders removes your data. Uninstalling removes all of it, including the installation identifier.

Opt out of diagnostics

Simply do not use Report a problem. Nothing described under "Data sent only when you ask for it" is sent otherwise.

Requests

If you are in the EEA or UK, you may ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of any data we hold, or object to it. Contact us and we will respond.

Our legal basis for order date normalisation is performance of the service you asked for; for diagnostics it is your consent, given by choosing to send a report.

Children's privacy

AliBill is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and note the change on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing before the change takes effect.
